Miami Herald: Miami Historic Preservation Board director resigns

Uguccioni got caught up in a half-decade battle between Temple B’Nai Zion and Sunny Isles Beach. The temple wants to tear down the current structure and expand to include a university. The city is fighting to designate the land as historic, a move that would stop the expansion plan.

Uguccioni was hired as an expert to help argue the city’s case. Her troubles in Miami surfaced after Sunny Isles Beach law firm Becker & Poliakoff made a public records request last week for any correspondence between Uguccioni and that city.
