Telemundo personality Lisa Morales says she’s a bit of a daredevil.
On “Nitido,” which airs 11:30 a.m Saturdays, the Miami native (along with co-host Dayanis Garcia) shows off her athleticism by taking part in activities such as indoor skydiving, wakeboarding, paddleboarding, kart-racing and foot volley (a Brazilian game that combines volleyball and soccer.)
Her most-daring feat yet: swimming with sharks. “I’m really afraid of sharks, so I was supernervous to get into the water.” she says.
Thanks to her toned physique and killer looks, the 26-year-old Sunny Isles Beach resident is one of Maxim’s “Hometown Hotties” which is the magazine’s bikini version of a Playmate. On Thursday, she and some sexy friends attended a meet-and-greet bash at New Era’s flagship store in Miami Beach.
Although Morales earned the “Hottie” title two years ago, the brunette still works for the men’s magazine as a spokeswoman, hosting events and mentoring hopefuls who want to learn what it takes to appear in Maxim.
“I think it’s every girl’s dream to be in Maxim,” she says. “But for me, it came as a shock … to be chosen out of hundreds of girls, and then to make it to the top 10. I felt so lucky and appreciative of my fans who voted for me.”
Morales, who wouldn’t comment on her love life, says she enjoys her sex-symbol status, but wants to be taken seriously as a model and TV star.
“Everyone always tells me, ‘Oh, you’re so gorgeous. … How do you all those crazy, athletic things on TV?’ “ she says. “But not only do I work out five times a week, I’m not afraid to get down and dirty.”
Even if this means swimming with Jaws again.
“I like the outdoors,” Morales says, “and the more-adventurous the activity, the more fun I’m going to have.”
